Of all the low-down dirty shameless things that Roger Goodell has done throughout the entire Bounty Bandwagon drama, today's article inside NFL.com surely takes the cake. Yes, I put the blame square on Goodell...... hell, NFL.com belongs to the NFL, that was his writer that wrote the story.
"The process of potential reinstatement for St. Louis Rams defensive coordinator Gregg Williams already is underway, league sources said Wednesday."
As Church Lady on Saturday Night Live would say: "Well, isn't that special." Roger Goodell no sooner started leaking the sleazier details about newer sanctions on Sean Payton via one of his "Media Mouthpieces" Chris Mortensen of ESPN than he started shampooing the welcome mat for Greg Williamson.
"Williams, through his advisers, has been in contact with high-ranking NFL officials to discuss what steps are to be taken during his indefinite suspension to allow him to apply for reinstatement."
Is it just me, or has Goodell invited Sean Payton to start working on reinstatement, and I missed it? Perhaps while reporting the constant bitch-slapping Sean is getting in the media I did miss it.
"The league has worked with suspended parties in the past to prescribe a course of action for reinstatement -- not unlike what Michael Vick went through after his dogfighting case -- and there is consistent contact between the sides as part of it."
Congratulations Roger, you couldn't resist letting more hypocrisy come to light.
No, Sean didn't get exiled to Siberia, but he might as well be. Hell, Payton can't even go to a college football game, much less go to the Superbowl as a fan & sit in the stands if the Saints make it there.
If you haven't read my previous article about the vendetta Roger has against Sean, go read it. It spells out the latest sleazy details of our coach's punishment.
